In 1967 Publications International, Ltd., went to press with its first title, Best Buys & Discount Prices. The company's mission, as stated by C.E.O. Lou Weber, was—and is—to "pool combined imaginative resources to create quality information products, both in the written word and other media, and to provide knowledge and enjoyment to the consumer at a reasonable price."

In just a few short years Publications International, Ltd. emerged as one of the nation's major publishers of promotional books. Thousands of smart shoppers relied on the accurate, money-saving buying information found in Consumer Guide® magazines. Publications International, Ltd. then expanded into the hardcover book format, permitting editors to explore a wide variety of subjects in great detail. By 1982 our publication list exceeded 100 titles-each volume featuring a wealth of important information in language everyone could understand and complemented by the lavish use of striking photography and illustrations.

Publications International, Ltd. continues to rise in prominence and regard within the industry. We now publish more than 500 titles a year in categories including children's, cooking, sports, how-to and crafts, entertainment, medical and health, auto, and consumer information.

Our substantial growth since the late 1960s is due in large part to the enthusiastic contributions and creative resources of our employees.
